An intimate family tale spanning 20 years, ‘Heirloom’ tells the story of Sonal, a young mother in Ahmedabad in the 1960s, who struggles to modernise her reluctant husband’s handloom-textile business to machine-made fabric, hoping to use the profits to insure herself against a familial disease that threatens her future.
